Cosima recently joined the LGI team as a Junior Consultant. She works in the Innovation Strategy Business Unit on projects related to circular economy and climate change mitigation.

Could you tell us a bit about your background and what attracted you to LGI?

I have a background in urban governance and urban sociology. Before joining LGI I was working in my hometown, Rome, at the Association of Italian Municipalities. There, I joined the department in charge of the European sustainable urban development programme URBACT as a communication and dissemination assistant. I helped with the coordination of the networks of Italian cities, with the organization of workshops, and with the capitalisation of knowledge through the publication of articles and blogposts. I was also collaborating with a research lab, LabGov, as a Research Fellow and Editor-in-chief.

LGI attracted me because of its active work in European research and innovation projects and its focus on sustainable innovation. I wanted to continue working on sustainability at the European level so LGI seemed perfect for me!

What are you hoping to contribute to LGI?

I hope to bring in a more socio-political point of view when it comes to the urban challenges that are tackled by many of the projects LGI works on.

How would you describe your experience with us so far?

Even though I have been at the office for only 5 days, I can safely say that I have been really impressed by the generosity of the team! Everybody has been really welcoming and super-supportive. I have already learned a lot thanks to the knowledge-sharing inclination of my colleagues and I am looking forward to learn even more!
