Energy efficient pathway for the city transformation: enabling a positive future

MAKING-CITY demonstrates the urban energy system transformation towards smart and low-carbon cities, based on the Positive Energy District (PED) concept. 

The PED operational models developed in MAKING-CITY support various European cities and their peers worldwide to adopt a long-term City Vision 2050 for energy transition and promote sustainable urbanisation whilst turning citizens into actors of this transformation.

The project includes two Lighthouse cities: Groningen (Netherlands) and Oulu (Finland) and 6 Follower cities: Bassano del Grappa (Italy), Kadiköy (Turkey), León (Spain), Lublin (Poland),  Trenčín (Slovakia), and Vidin (Bulgaria). 

• Leadership of the communication and dissemination activities
• Organisation of 2 stakeholder events and a innovation camp
• Leadership to steer the exploitation of the project results (contribution to Busines modelling and Social Innovation activities)
• Contributor to capacity building and stakeholder engagement activities (liasing with related cities and sectorial networks)
