RECORD : End of life of batteries

RECORD commissioned LGI Sustainable Innovation and Efectis to carry out a strategic study on the physical, chemical, and toxic risks linked to the end-of-life of Lithium-Ion batteries, in the context of their rapid market growth and disposal. The project aimed to identify risks throughout the battery value chain (collection, treatment, reuse, recycling) and to propose operational recommendations to improve safety. The work included a literature review, stakeholder interviews, regulatory gap analysis, and the production of tailored deliverables for professionals in the field.

EN SAVOIR PLUS

OUR ROLE

LGI co-led the study with Efectis, bringing expertise in multi-stakeholder project management, value chain assessments, and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) risk analysis. ESG refers to the three central factors in measuring the sustainability and societal impact of an investment in a company or business. LGI conducted a forecast study on end-of-life Li-Ion batteries in France by 2030, identified regulatory gaps, developed two awareness-raising infographics, and contributed to the transversal recommendations. LGI also coordinated the overall project and prepared the final deliverables (report, executive summaries, presentation materials).
