The project aimed to equip our client with a comprehensive understanding of global scientific research trends to inform strategic decisions in order to build a resilient organisation for the next fifteen years. Key activities included:

• Mapping of global research trends and prioritized themes.
• Comparative analysis of European and American funding programs.
• Identification of public funding trends in areas like artificial intelligence, biotechnology, and climate change, as well as social issues.
• Strategic recommendations for aligning Research and Development (R&D) priorities with global trends.

We provided advanced consulting, combining automated data sourcing with in-depth analysis to map emerging scientific themes relevant to our client. Our contributions included:

• Collecting and processing funding data through an custom platform and AI tools for data enrichment.
• Conducting a historical milestone analysis, to put funding shifts into perspective, including: key regulations, national and supra-national policies and funding strategies, global events (wars, epidemics, sports events, and others).
• Conducting prospective qualitative analyses to identify growth areas.
• Organizing collaborative workshops to share results and refine recommendations.
• Ensuring rigorous project management to meet deadlines and maintain deliverable quality.
