Modernizing Uzbekistan's national innovation system

This project, currently supported by the World Bank and the Ministry of Innovative Development, enhances innovation in Uzbekistan through key areas. It starts with Research Excellence to boost the impact of research and development (R&D) on society and the economy, which naturally leads to Private Innovation, fostering entrepreneurship through commercialization.

Strengthening Capacity Building equips stakeholders with necessary skills, while upgrading Infrastructure modernizes research facilities to create a supportive environment. Finally, International Collaboration establishes global partnerships that enhance knowledge exchange and drive innovation. Together, these elements align with Uzbekistan's strategy to modernize its economy and enhance global competitiveness.

• Development of manuals and methodology, guidelines for RCP and IBRD, evaluation tools
• Start-up studios and programme launches, demonstration days and stakeholder engagement
• Capacity Building & Community Building, training technology transfer units in commercialization and facilitating networking for researchers and investors
• Matchmaking & Funding Support, connecting researchers with investors and ensuring access to funding and consulting services
