Piloting innovation insurance solutions for adaptation

PIISA stands for “Piloting Innovation Insurance Solutions for Adaptation” and is a 3-year Research and Innovation Action funded by the Horizon Europe programme under the call “HORIZON-MISS-2022-CLIMA-01.” The partnership consists of 12 organizations from 5 European countries, working together to co-develop climate-resilient insurance portfolios and solutions for sharing climate-related risk and loss data.

The project focuses on key sectors such as agriculture, forestry, urban areas, and citizens’ well-being, addressing various climate-related hazards, including floods, droughts, forest fires, biotic risks, and different types of storms.

LGI is involved in several parts of the PIISA project : 

• Leading tasks in work package 4, "Dissemination, Exploitation, and Communication," specifically in "Public Communication" and "Dissemination"
• Serving as the task lead for "Replicability and Exploitation of Pilot Results" within the same work package
• Responsible for "Focused Market Reviews" in the pilot sectors/areas of Work Package 3
