European Sodium Fast Reactor - Safety by Innovative Monitoring, Power Level flexibility and Experimental research

The ESFR-SIMPLE project sets out to enhance the current European Sodium Fast Reactor (ESFR) design. Its goal is to improve safety and economic efficiency by incorporating innovative technologies, following the ESNII roadmap.

The project's specific targets involve reimagining the ESFR design and evaluating the effects of alternative technologies. It also aims to propose, develop, and assess advanced AI-driven methods for monitoring and processing operational data.

A key objective is to generate new experimental data. Lastly, the project is committed to ensuring the generated knowledge is disseminated to a broad spectrum of stakeholders, both in Europe and internationally.
