Development of safe and sustainable PFAS-free coatings for food packaging and upholstery textile applications
ZeroF develops safe and sustainable coating alternatives to replace PFAS compounds in food packaging and upholstery textile value chains. The aim is to produce coatings with limited water absorption, high oil and grease resistance for packaging and high water and oil repellency for textiles. The developed materials are expected to meet the needed performance while eliminating the use of fluorochemicals.
The ZeroF solutions aims to achieve competitive prices no more than 20% expensive than current alternatives while reducing the environmental impact by more than 25%. Several life cycle analysis, life cycle costs and an environmental footprint assessment will be performed during the project implementation testing phase.
