Enlightened trust: An examination of trust and distrust in governance – conditions, effects and remedies

Transitioning to a sustainable energy system requires more than technology; human factors are crucial. Consumer and societal attitudes, risk perceptions, behaviours, and investments significantly impact our energy system's evolution.

The project enhanced this transition by comprehensively understanding how technology and socio-demographic factors influence energy behaviour, accomplished through a detailed mapping of Europe's energy system, identifying key actors, technologies, markets, policies, and innovations.
