The team is delighted to announce eight new H2020 projects!
H2020-EURATOM funding success
LGI will partner in 8 new European-funded collaborative projects starting in June: CORTEX, ESFR SMART, GENIORS, GEMINI+, INSPYRE, INSIDER, FOREvER and TRANSAT.
-
CORTEX (CORe monitoring Techniques and EXperimental validation and demonstration)
The CORTEX project aims at developing an innovative core monitoring technique that allows detecting anomalies in nuclear reactors, such as excessive vibrations of core internals, flow blockage amongst others.
-
ESFR-SMART (European Sodium Fast Reactor Safety Measures Assessment and Research Tools)
-
GENIORS (GEN IV Integrated Oxide fuels recycling strategies)
GENIORS intends to address research and innovation in fuel cycle chemistry and physics for the optimisation of fuel design in line with the Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) and the Deployment Strategy of the Sustainable Nuclear Energy Technology Platform (SNETP). This will lead to the provision of more science-based strategies for nuclear fuel management in the EU and as such, will reinforce Europe’s leadership in this domain.
-
GEMINI+ (Research and Development in support of the GEMINI Initiative)
-
INSPYRE (Investigations Supporting MOX Fuel Licensing in ESNII Prototype Reactors)
-
INSIDER (Improved Nuclear SIte characterization for waste minimization in Decommissioning and Dismantling (D&D) operations under constrained EnviRonments)
INSIDER aims to define the best strategy for waste production optimisation by focusing on characterisation strategy and methodology improvements. The project expects to refine the EU policy and put forward new and improved solutions for the management of radioactive waste.
-
FOREvER (Fuel fOR REsEarch Reactors)
-
TRANSAT (TRANSversal Actions for Tritium)
The TRANSAT project aims to expand the knowledge in technical solutions to mitigate the release of tritium. This project will benefit nuclear waste producers, nuclear waste repositories and nuclear safety authorities. It will also expand the knowledge on tritium and further enhance regulatory oversight of tritium-related activities, especially wherever tritiated particles are expected.
We are very proud of this achievement and excited to work with new teams!
