The LEAP-RE programme has launched its third call for projects, LEAP-SE COFUND.
This collaboration between the European Union and the African Union catalyses joint efforts towards the sustainable energy transition, tailored to the realities of both continents.
Continuing its coordination efforts initiated in 2020, LGI maintains its commitment to the programme by managing contractual relationships with African partners that are without funding organisations, as well as overseeing community engagement activities through the LEAP-RE platform.
LEAP-SE has set an ambitious objective: to facilitate access to sustainable energy whilst addressing climate and economic challenges. This third call for projects builds upon this momentum, offering a unique framework for funding and collaboration to develop innovative renewable energy solutions, create balanced partnerships between European and African stakeholders, and implement concrete solutions to improve energy access.
With a budget of approximately €15 million, including €3.5 million from the European Commission, this programme aims to catalyse projects with lasting international impact.
To participate, consortiums must gather at least four partners from both continents, including mandatory participation from both public and private sectors. Selected projects should contribute to improving energy access in remote areas, integrating renewable energy solutions, and facilitating skills transfer between regions.

By participating in LEAP-RE, you become part of the global energy transition movement. Together, let us bring to life innovative energy solutions that will sustainably transform both our continents.
