PREparing for a Long-Term Joint EU-AU Research and Innovation Partnership on Renewable Energy

PRE-LEAP-RE project was an initial step for building effective pathway for empowering African Union (AU) local research on renewable energy (RE). This was promoted by fostering EU-AU joint cooperation while creating conditions to transform research into effective innovation, tailored to the specific needs, the capacity and the aspiration of the African society, different from region to region. 

The project succeeded to initialise a new multilateral scheme for collaboration supported by the European Commission and a number of national European and African programmes - the LEAP-RE community. 

• Support to the coordinator for the project set up
• Support to the coordinator as project management office (PMO)
• Leadership of the communication and dissemination activities
• Contribution to building a wide community of EU and AU based stakeholders
• Support in organistion of international workshops and events
