LGI facilitated one of the workshops organised in the framework of the SCRREEN project. The objective of this project is to build an EU network of experts in the field of raw materials.
SCRREEN has set up six Expert Groups (Markets, Governments & Policies, Substitution, Resources, Circular Economy, and Production) composed of Consortium Members and External Experts. They will contribute to the analysis of the different CRM issues, participate in the technical discussions and share their perspectives, needs and ideas during dedicated expert group meetings thus contributing to the findings of the project.
The Market Expert Group met in Berlin last week where LGI’s Antoine Monnet conducted two working sessions on future EU needs of critical raw materials. He introduced this topic by presenting the main outputs of a study he conducted with in collaboration with Amar Ait Abderrahim. Then, during the first session, experts debated about the risks of having higher demand trends than expected. During the second session, LGI organised a fake call for proposals to get an idea of how the experts would prioritise research & development programs.
Interested by critical raw materials? This is the last week to take this short quiz to guess what industrial applications will drive the demand in the next 20 years!
